Plant World's Cafe...
Our café surely has one of the best viewpoints in the county.
Most drivers racing down the Milber-Torquay ridge road do not
appreciate what lies beyond the high hedges that skirt the road.
The new café was built in 2006 and replaced the shed and polytunnel
which served our customers with drink and snacks for the previous 20 years.
Food & Drinks...
As time has progressed we have tried to improve the range and quality of our catering
although we’re happy to limit our selves to serving light lunches and snacks as our kitchen
is rather cramped. There are 40 places indoors with another 15 or so outside.
Some of the food on offer included paninis, toasties and jacket potatoes with a good range of
homemade cakes on offer. We try and use local produce where possible – our ice creams are from
Langage, our soups come from Rod & Bens and our bottled drinks come from Heron Valley. This year
we have also invested in a new coffee machine so we hope to be able to offer lattes and cappuccinos.
Artwork...
KT Hemmings has been our artist in resident here for the last three years.
As well as fine painter KT is a skilled photographer and plantswoman and her
art work has catalogued a lot of the garden’s changes through the seasons.
Postcards and prints are available to buy in the shop.
